Kenneth J Kopacz, MD
 

 
 
Dr. Kopacz has been a member of Spine Care and Rehabilitation since 1995.  He grew up locally, in Lyndhurst, NJ, and attended Lyndhurst High School.  He went on to do his undergraduate work at Princeton University where he earned a degree in Biochemistry, and graduated Summa Cum Laude.  During his time at Princeton, he also played basketball under coach Peter Carril.  Upon graduation, he attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia, and obtained his MD degree in 1988.  Dr. Kopacz, went on to complete his Surgical internship at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, in 1989 and his Orthopedic Residency in 1993.
 
Following residency, Dr. Kopacz completed specialized training in Spine Surgery at SUNY-Health Science Center, Syracuse, NY.  He studied under Dr. Hansen Yuan and Dr. Bruce Frederickson. Throughout his fellowship, he treated complex adult conditions including: spinal degenerative diseases, complex trauma, spinal cord injuries as well as conservative treatment of spinal conditions.
 
Dr. Kopacz has received many awards and honors and is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery.  He is a member of the AMA, New Jersey Orthopedic Society, North American Spine Society, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and Essex County Medical Society.  He has served as Treasurer of the NJ Orthopedic Society as well as a committee member for the North American Spine Society.  He is currently Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at New Jersey Medical School and has published numerous articles in the peer reviewed journals.  Dr. Kopacz is available by appointment to treat all spinal conditions.
